Monopoly Money
These two sculptures are a statement about the greed and exploitation of housing by hedge funds, investment banks, and exploitative landlords.
The artworks are created from a special edition game of monopoly that was a prized possession throughout childhood. After playing the game as an adult I was disgusted with the premise of the game and the way it encourages people to behave. As I understand it, that is why the game was created in the first place, to show how monopolies suck.
