These satellite dishes are the South Pole Station's connection with the outside world. The internet and phone service there is spotty and intermittent. Someone living there has to plan to catch satellite windows in order to use slow internet and make phone calls back to loved ones.

The domes are located at the far end of the berms where various supplies are stored in rows.
